For her research on regulatory T cells, which play an important role in autoimmune and cancer diseases, biochemist Dr. rer. nat. Juliane Lokau receives the Novartis Foundation for Therapeutic Research Graduate Fellowship.

The University Hospital for Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Reproductive Medicine Magdeburg has received certification from the German Cancer Society as a "Gynecological Cancer Center" in the fall of 2022.

Saxony-Anhalt is still looking for future rural doctors and medical officers. For the upcoming winter semester 2023/2024, 26 study places are available for the first time in Magdeburg and Halle. That is six more than in the first three rounds. Applications can be submitted until March 31 via a preliminary quota for the selection process for studying human medicine.
