Hypertension Team
Diagnosis and Therapy of Arterial Hypertension
After referral by your family doctor or treating specialist, we will examine you for hypertension during our special consultation hour and determine whether another underlying disease (secondary hypertension) is responsible for the development of hypertension or whether it is an independent disease (so-called essential hypertension). We will also look for damage to other organs caused by blood pressure (e.g. the heart or kidneys).
In addition to the diagnosis of high blood pressure, one of the main focuses of our work is the treatment of arterial hypertension. Adapted to your concomitant diseases and needs, we adjust them to an optimal drug therapy. If required, we can also carry out renal denervation of the renal arteries in cooperation with the Clinic for Cardiology, Pneumology, Angiology and Radiology. The nerve tracts of the nerve arteries are destroyed in order to break through an important mechanism in the emergence of high blood pressure.
Another focus of our work, however, is fostering the patient's personal responsibility for his/her illness within the framework of lifestyle changes. Our high-blood pressure training courses teach you how to treat your own high blood pressure and thus prevent complications.
