A Roadmap for the Future
On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg invites you to this year’s College Information Day. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., high school students in 10th grade and above, as well as interested parents, will have the opportunity to learn all about degree programs and campus life. The event will take place on the campus at Universitätsplatz and the medical campus on Leipziger Straße.
Under the motto “Which degree program is right for me?”, the university is offering a diverse program featuring lectures, information booths, campus tours, and personal counseling sessions. Over 100 degree programs—ranging from engineering to psychology—will be presented.
Focus on Human Medicine: Insights into a Responsible Field of Study
A special highlight of the Open House is the Human Medicine section, which offers exciting and practical insights into one of the most demanding fields of study. At the Faculty of Medicine’s information tent, interested visitors can get specific information about the Human Medicine degree program as well as the Immunology master’s program. Faculty and students will be on hand to answer individual questions—especially helpful for anyone who is still unsure about which program to choose.
Visitors will learn firsthand how the medical program is structured, what requirements it entails, and what career prospects it offers. In addition, students will provide authentic insights into their daily lives—balancing lectures, internships, and clinical work—and demonstrate what it means to eventually take responsibility for people’s health.

Anyone interested in studying medicine will have the opportunity at the Study Information Day to discover or deepen their own enthusiasm. Whether through conversation, practical demonstrations, or personal testimonials—the Department of Human Medicine clearly illustrates how versatile and meaningful this career path is
