Successful first onboarding at Magdeburg University Hospital

It is with great pleasure that we look back on the first onboarding weeks at Magdeburg University Medicine, which started in July and recently entered its second round at the beginning of August. This introductory programme, which will take place every month from now on, is designed to give new employees the best possible start. UMMD is thus showing itself to be a modern employer.

Why is a well-designed onboarding programme so important? Quite simply, it makes it easier to get started and strengthens employee loyalty. Our comprehensive training and information packs have enabled our new colleagues to get off to a smooth start. They were given an insight into the mission statement, the vision and the various areas of UMMD. In addition, the first mandatory training sessions were completed - so all the important aspects were covered.

The feeling of being welcome from day one has noticeably increased satisfaction and motivation. New acquaintances were made and networks formed, making it easier to settle in. In particular, the participation of the various professional groups enabled an interdisciplinary exchange. A structured onboarding programme is not only a boon for our new team members, but also a clear competitive advantage in the race for the best talent.

Various activities ensured a relaxed get-together, while our dedicated recruiting team was on hand to provide support at all times. Thanks to the support of the speakers, we were able to organise a successful first onboarding week.

We can't wait to welcome many more new faces to UMMD in the future through our onboarding programme and offer them the best possible start. Welcome on board!
